ABOUT OUR BTEC COURSE
BTECs provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a subject area, alongside studying relevant theory in classroom based lessons. They are an increasingly popular route to university and – as a ‘Level 3 Extended Diploma’ – are the equivalent to three A-Levels.
Our BTEC is a full-time and challenging course exploring many of the exciting career opportunities in the sports industry. It provides the perfect blend of theory and practical learning; building the knowledge, understanding, and skills students require when entering the workplace or pursuing further study at university.
Each week typically consists of 12 one-hour lessons, 4 hours of supervised study time and 4 30-minute Tutor Periods – this is alongside 5 hours of football training, plus competitive fixtures.

HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED
The assessment methods used in our BTEC course are almost as varied as the modules within it! Rather than solely being assessed by high-stakes exams, students complete coursework, group presentations and practical assignments, spread evenly throughout the two-year course. This not only allows students to showcase their skills and academic knowledge, but also develops an invaluable set of transferable skills which are directly applicable to both university preparation and the workplace.
Over the two-year period, students complete 14 units in total, whereby the following assessment methods are used:
